Should You Buy eBooks Instead Of Paper Books?

Should You Buy eBooks?

Buy eBooksOne of the most frequently asked questions by consumers who have a new eBook reader is whether they should buy eBooks instead of paper books. Many people, including myself, have at one time or another felt that they would miss holding an actual book in their hands. If you’re wondering what to do then here are a few reasons to help you make a decision.

Reasons To Buy eBooks

  • With eBooks You’ll Save Money: You may be wondering how that can be true when some eReaders are so expensive to buy.  It’s true that you have the initial expense of the reader itself but most eBooks are very inexpensive and most of them cost less than their paper versions. In fact, there are many free eReader books. All of the classics are free and you’ll find that there are actually so many free eBooks that you can fill your reader with great content without spending a dime.
  •  Indie Publishing Is Convenient: Indie Publishing makes it much easier for authors to publish their work in eBook format than it is to publish in actual physical books. This means that you’ll have the convenience of reading unknown authors who may be on their way to super stardom. Many of these books are available at low prices by these authors.
  • You’ll Have Less Clutter Around The House: Let’s face it, paper books take up a fair amount of room around the house. When you buy eBooks you don’t have to even worry about having a place to store them. They simply go onto your computer hard drive or into your eBook memory. If you’re an avid book reader like me then you’ll never have to worry about storage space again.
  • Buying eBooks Is Easy: Buying eBooks is much easier than buying real paper books. You don’t have to ever leave your house or wait for the mail or the UPS truck to arrive with your delivery. With eBooks you just order from your device and the books are downloaded within minutes. It couldn’t be easier.
  • Help The Environment When You Buy eBooks: Buying eBooks will certainly have an impact on our environment by saving trees when less paper books are printed. Although the eBook reader itself contributes to your carbon footprint, the books themselves save trees.
  • You Can Read Your Books From Multiple Locations: If you ever travel, I’m sure that there’s been a time or two when you realized that you forgot to bring a certain book with you. When you use an eBook reader you’ll never have to worry about that problem again. You can sync your books between your computer, your smartphone, and your reader so you’ll have your favorites with you at all times.
  • Lend Your Books To Friends: Paper books have always been able to be lent to friends and now the same can be done with eBooks. Although you can’t lend your eBooks to just anyone, you can lend them to other friends who also own eBook readers so you can all enjoy a good read. Just be sure to check that the publisher of the book allows lending.

These are just a few of the reasons to buy ebooks over traditionally printed paper books. If you’re worried that your reading experience won’t be the same with an eBook reader, don’t be! When you buy a high quality reader you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that you’ll barely notice that you’re reading from a screen.

The Ematic eGlide Key Specs

  • The average price of the Ematic Is $85
  • This product was released in 2010
  • It has a battery life of 3 to 4 hours
  • It has a 7″ screen size
  • It has a color screen for better viewing
  • The weight of the Ematic is 11.2 oz
  • Storage Size is 4GB with an expandable SD card slot
  • There is no internet connectivity with this device
  • The main eBook Format is ePub

The Pros Of The Ematic eGlide

The Price: The Ematic eGlide is very reasonably priced at about $85 as you’ll see in this Ematic eGlide review. This reader certainly falls into the budget category although it’s not quite as cheap as the newest Amazon Kindle 4 that is offered with an ad-supported discount. It is, however, one of the cheapest color eReaders on the market and it certainly beats out its competitors the Nook Color and the Kindle Fire. The Ematic eGlide has some extra features that the Kindle doesn’t have.

The Color Screen: As already mentioned, the Ematic comes with a color screen and there are numerous benefits of this. The biggest benefit is being able to read your favorite magazines or books with color images. With a color screen these publications are much easier to read and you’re not missing out on any of the glory of the photos. It also means that you can easily view photos when you’re on the go. The resolution on the Ematic is not as good as it is on the more expensive tablet computers but it’s more than average in quality.

The Books Themselves: The Ematic eGlide uses ePub books as its main format. The benefit of this is that you can easily buy books from a wide variety of eBook stores and not be limited to just one. Book reading abilities themselves are relatively standard and include the ability to change modes, background color, font size, and others.T

Multimedia Options: As seen in this Ematic eGlide review, this reader can handle a multitude of different formats. Not only can you read ePub books, but you can also read PDF files and listen to a variety of music and video formats. You won’t see this on basic eReaders. Instead, this is a feature that comes with tablets.

The Carrying Case: The Ematic eGlide is one of the only eBook readers that comes with its own case. Many buyers have commented that they really like the case, that it’s very high quality, and that it has magnets that help keep it in place. With other readers you have to buy the case separately which most people do because they’d like to keep their reader safe from spills and scratches. With the Ematic coming with its own case you’ll save yourself a little bit of money on top of the units already low price.

Internal Memory: The 4GV memory of the Ematic really stands up against its competitors like the Kindle. However, it’s a little bit low considering the fact that this unit is meant to store bigger files like video. On the positive side, there’s an SD card slot included that will allow you to expand the memory to the level that you so desire, giving you a great amount of flexibility that you won’t find on other eReaders.

The Cons Of The Ematic eGlide

The Reading Functions: As with every Ematic eGlide review, one must discuss the cons of the product being reviewed. One of the downfalls of the Ematic eGlide is the fact that the reading functions leave a little bit to be desired. There’s only one font choice and four font sizes to choose from. A few users have complained that the largest font size wasn’t large enough for them. Other eReaders like the Kindle tend to deal with this issue slightly better.

The Battery Life: The battery life on this device leaves a lot to be desired and only lasts for about 3 to 4 hours. Although the battery life with color ereaders is never as good as that of an e-Ink reader, you’re going to find yourself charging this unit quite frequently. This may be difficult to do if you’re on a long trip. Readers like the Nook have twice the battery life at about 8 hours.

There Is No Wi-Fi: While there’s no ability to connect to Wi-Fi networks with the Ematic eGlide, one must remember that this is a low budget purchase. While you’re not able to connect like you can with the Nook, you’re spending far less money and if your emphasis is on reading than this may not be an issue for you.

PDF File Reader Is Sluggish: There’s not an eReader on the market that deals perfectly with PDF files although color eReaders are usually slightly better at handling them. With that said, the Ematic eGlide is quite sluggish in this arena and can take a while to load and turn between pages.

The Ematic eGlide Review – Is The Ematic eGlide Worth Buying?

The Ematic eGlide does in fact come with some limitations. It doesn’t have internet connection, there’s no browser, and it has a low battery life. On the plus side, it’s by far one of the most affordable eBook readers on the market. If your emphasis is on reading then you’ll be content and you’ll be able to carry your photos and videos with you to view on your color screen. I hope you’ve found this Ematic eGlide review beneficial.

It’s always worth taking a look at the eBook reader software that has been developed by your eReader’s manufacturer. Caliber is an open source library management application that has been developed just for eBook users. It’s an excellent tool for organizing your eBook and PDF files. More importantly, it can convert eBook files into other formats which are a very important feature depending on the type of eReader that you have. For example, the Amazon Kindle cannot real all eBook formats. So if you’re looking to buy a book from somewhere besides the Kindle store, and that book comes in a different format, then you can buy the book in the ePub format and use the Calibre software to convert it to the format that the Kindle recognized.

Calibre is also great for converting PDF files because those files aren’t always so easy to read as a standard eBook file. Here again, you can convert the file using Calibre and then you can vary the font size and text so that it fits better on your personal screen.

Stanza offers apps for the Android, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It’s an excellent tool that makes it easy to find and download free eBooks and periodicals and you can read while you’re on the go. You’ll be able to easily browse existing books, share with others, and adjust text so you can easily read any document.

Since self-publishing is becoming very popular, it’s important to note that there is a variety of eBook reader software that will help you format your books correctly so they can be read by eReaders. This is an important step to take before publishing that book of yours.

It’s evident that there is certainly a wide variety of free eBook reader software programs available that will make life much easier for you. Since many of them are completely free, they make life easier for all of us!

  • This product has been released in 2011
  • The battery life is one month with the Wi-Fi turned off
  • The screen size is 6 inches in diameter
  • The screen type is e-Ink and it has touch screen features
  • This eReader weights only 7.05 ounces
  • Storage size if 2GB but it’s expandable by 32GB
  • The main eBook format is ePub

The Pros Of The Kobo eReader

The Price: The two major competitors for the Kobo eReader are the Nook Touch and the Kindle Touch. Both of these units come in at the $139 price point so the Kobo Touch will save you some money at $129. The only way to get a cheaper reader would be to buy the ad-supported Amazon Kindle 4. The Kobo comes with a very sleek touch screen and a variety of great features just like the other two readers.

The Touch Screen Feature:  If you haven’t noticed, touch screen eBook readers are now becoming the norm and we didn’t want to leave this out of the Kobo eReader review. The touch screen is really convenient because it’s much easier to navigate menu items and even to use features like the dictionary. It saves lots of scrolling time so you can complete tasks much quicker.

Expanded Memory Option:  If you’ve been researching the Amazon Kindle Touch then you already know that has 2GB of internal memory and can store up to an amazing 1,000 books. Now it’s likely that you may never need more space than that but if you’re really an avid book reader then it’s great to have an expansive option should you need it and this is what the Kobo eReader offers. With the Kobo you’ll get and SD memory card expansion slot that will allow you to store up to 30,000 eBooks on your 32GB of memory.

Browser And Web Access:  The Kobo eReader comes with Wi-Fi connectivity already built in, just as you would expect from any eReader in this day and age. This is a convenience that allows you to shop for new books from anywhere. It’s certainly a great feature to have when you’re away from your home.

Compact Design:  Compact is certainly in these days and we didn’t want to forget about it in the Kobo eReader review. Not only is this unit compact but it’s also very lightweight and portable. This makes it very comfortable to hold while you’re reading your favorite book. The Kobo is slightly different than its competition in the fact that it has a quilted design on the back on you can be sure to get a good grip on the device. It also comes in several different colors that make it quite stylish and fun.

Battery Life: Battery life with the Kobo is similar to its competitors and lasts about one month when you have the Wi-Fi turned off. This is a great feature to have and you won’t have to worry about charging the unit every time you turn around. It may be a little bit less life than what the major competition reports but it’s still considered to be more than excellent.

Some Features That Are All Its Own: One of the best things about the Kobo eReader review is the fact that this reader comes with some unique features that let it stand out on its own. For example, it’s got a Reading Life feature that provides you with detailed statistics about the books that you’ve read. It also gives you some cool rewards when you meet certain requirements.

Apps: The Kobo has a variety of apps available for download for the Android, iPhone, iPad, and your own personal computer. This makes it possible to have your books with you no matter which device you’re using.  These features are also available on the Kindle and the Nook.

Page Turns: With the touch screen feature of the Kobo you’ll be able to swipe or tap your screen in order to turn the page which makes reading that much easier. All manufacturers in today’s world are making efforts to reduce the annoying black screen flash that can occur on e-Ink eReaders. With enhanced technology, you’ll no longer notice page turns like you used to.

The Cons Of The Kobo eReader

The Touch Features Are Slightly Lacking: When compared to its rival Kindle and Nook versions, the Kobo touch screen functions are slightly less intuitive than the others. The user interface isn’t laid out quite as well but you can still find your way around quite easily.

The Kobo Has Fewer Features: The Kobo Touch has slightly fewer features than the Kindle and is more in line with what the Nook offers. Like the Nook, it has no ability to play MP3 files and there are no functions for text-to-speech. It does, however, allow you to read PDF files and take advantage of free library lending.

There Aren’t As Many Newspaper and Magazine Options: The Nook is probably most famous for its magazine displays. You’ll also find the Kindle has a large variety in its store. The Kobo eReader has far fewer choices but you’ll still find that some options to choose from.

What’s The Verdict Of The Kobo eReader Review?

When all is said and done, is the Kobo Touch worth buying? First of all, it’s an excellent upgrade over the other eReaders in its line. It’s got some features that certainly stand up against its rivals the Kindle Touch and the Nook Touch. It’s got a great design that lets it stand out above the others. Although the Kobo eBook store doesn’t offer as many books as the others do, this device allows you to read content from many other sources to make up the difference. Overall, the Kobo Touch is a solid eReader that’s available at a great price and I hope that’s what the Kobo eReader review has helped you to see.

Where To Find Free eReader Books

Free eReader BooksIf you already own an eReader or if you’re in the process of buying one, then I’m sure you’ll already thinking about how you can save money on the new eBooks that you’re excited to start reading. You’ll be happy to know that free eReader books really do exist and there are many ways to get them that are legal. Many of the free ones are those who are out of copyright. In other words, they’re most likely classics from days past. But if you take a moment to browse a few online websites, you’ll find some modern books that just may surprise you.

Begin Looking In Official eBook Reader Stores

There are several official eBook stores that will give you a start in your free eReader books search. These locations, which include the Amazon Kindle Store, the Apple iBook store, and the Barnes & Noble eBook store, are the easiest places for you to download free books. You can do this directly from your reading device and you’ll find that these list their top 100 free reads for you to browse through.  It’s also worth looking at the paid eBooks on these sites because you’ll also find lots of books that cost less than a dollar, including many self-published authors.

Then Move On To Other Online Collections

When you feel like you’ve exhausted all of the free eBooks from the official stores, there are actually a few other resources that you can consider:

Google Books is a great place to browse if you’re looking for classic books. Google runs their eBook store in the US with a greater selection of both free and paid books. Project Gutenberg is very well known and has a library of thousands of free eBooks that are available to download in several different formats. And then there’s MobileRead.com that has both free eReader books and many other resources for you to explore. They’re great for sending announcements whenever new free books are added or when Amazon launches a new device.

Borrow Your Friends eBooks

Not all eReaders offer a lending feature, but both the Kindle and the Nook do. With this feature, you’re able to lend books from one friend to another for a limited time of about two weeks. So you can share books with your friends and they can share with you and you’ll all save some money.  Pretty cool, right?

Digital Libraries Allow You To Borrow eBooks

And finally, don’t forget to visit your local library because they’re really more up on the times than you may realize. Although they’re famous for their stacks of physical books, they’ve also made free eReader books available to their members. You’ll need to be sure that they’re compatible with your reading device and you’ll most likely be able to access the books through your computer.

So, I hope you’re feeling better and are convinced that you really can save some money with free eReader books. I used to avoid looking at the free books because I just assumed that they wouldn’t interest me. Boy was I wrong about that!  Will a little bit of time and research I’ve been able to download some great reads by some great authors and now you can do the same!

The Amazon Kindle 4 Review

The Amazon Kindle 4

Amazon Kindle 4The newest Kindle to hit the market in 2011 is the Amazon Kindle 4. It’s just recently been released and it’s by far the smallest and lightest Kindle ever. And not only is it the smallest but it’s also the cheapest one that we’ve seen. It’s got an amazing price point and this is especially true if you choose to buy the ad-supported version.

Click Here To Shop For The Amazon Kindle 4

What we’re all wondering is whether version 4 retains all of the features that we love about the Kindle 3 (now known as the Kindle Keyboard) and actually improves on those features. Be sure to continue reading to find out more. As with any product, there are some good and some not so good and we’re going to take a look at them all.

Amazon Kindle 4  Specs

  • The average price is only $79 for the ad-supported version and $109 without
  • It’s been newly released in 2011
  • Battery life is one month as long as you keep the wi-fi turned off
  • The screen size is 6 inches
  • It has an e-ink screen type
  • It weighs in at a lightweight 5.98 oz
  • Storage Size is 2 GB
  • It’s main eBook Format is AZW (Kindle)

The Pros Of The Amazon Kindle 4

Amazon Kindle 4The First Pro Has Got To Be The Price: Amazon has help true to their promise of keeping their prices low. In fact, they’ve continued to lower prices each time a new generation of the Kindle is released. This makes the Kindle a huge contender in the market. While the Kindle 4 doesn’t come with all of the features that you’ll see on the Kindle Touch or the Kindle Keyboard, it’s still a great example of the overall quality that we’ve come to expect.

The Second Pro Is Its Option For Special Offers: While some consumers may feel that this is a drawback when it comes to the Amazon Kindle 4, that’s really not the case. In this economy that we’re facing, Amazon is just taking the opportunity to allow you to save some more money. $30 is a lot and that’s what you’ll be able to save when you buy the version that will display ads on the home screen and on the screensavers. You’ll never see an ad while you’re reading so this is an excellent choice for those who are trying to be cost conscious.

The Third Pro Is The Fabulous Kindle Store: It’s not a big secret that the biggest bookstore to be found is the Amazon Kindle store. They have the best selection of eBooks and you’ll be able to access the bookstore right from your Kindle 4 menu. When it comes to buying your next book it really is as easy as clicking a button. And you’ll find that Amazon is very competitive on their pricing and not only will you find a lot of $.99 downloads but you’ll find plenty of free ones also.

The Fourth Pro Is The Battery Life: The battery life of Kindle products, including the new Amazon Kindle 4, is a massive bonus for users. The fact that this battery runs for a full month (when you’re not using the wi-fi) is truly convenient and you won’t find yourself running to charge the device every time that you turn around. It doesn’t last quite as long as the battery on the Keyboard or the Touch but it sure can hold its own.

The Cons Of The Amazon Kindle 4

The First Con Is The Lack Of A Touchscreen: Some may find the lack of a touchscreen to be quite a drawback. Just like the Kindle Keyboard, with the Amazon Kindle 4 you’re going to have to turn the pages by using the button on the sides of the device. There is no keyboard with this version so you have to use the directional pad to navigate. On the positive side, many may find the lack of a touchscreen much less intimidating and not as “technical”.

The Second Con Is The Lack Of Audio: One thing that you’re not going to find on the Amazon Kindle 4 is a set of speakers. This means that you won’t be able to take advantage of the text-to-speech (which gives you the ability to have your books read aloud to you) that you’ll find on the Keyboard and Touch versions. You also won’t have the ability to play MP3′s or audiobooks.

The Third Con Is The Lack of The 3G Option: It’s pretty clear that Amazon wanted to keep things as simple as possible by not having an option for 3G connectivity with this model. Their assumption is probably that most users will get all they need with a Wi-Fi connection and leaving out the 3G connection option makes it easier to keep the price low. If 3G is very important to you then you’ll have to opt up to a more expensive device.

The Fourth Con Is Not Being Able To Access ePub eBooks: Instead of opting for the open source eBook format ePub, Amazon went with their own AZW format. What this means to you is that you can’t read Kindle books on other electronic devices and you can’t purchase ePub books for your reader. If you’re a fan of ePub then the free software programs like Calibre will convert ePub books into Mobi format when your Amazon Kindle 4 can read.

Is The Amazon Kindle 4 Worth Buying?

The Amazon Kindle 4 is not perfect. Without a touch screen or keyboard, you’ll have to do a lot of scrolling if you’re looking up words or typing notes. On the other hand, it’s extremely cheap, and that’s what the selling point is. There are now enough Kindles to suit the needs of just about anyone. If you’re shopping for a cheap but high quality reader, then opt for the Amazon Kindle 4. If you prefer touchscreen or 3G internet access, then head for the Kindle Touch instead.

Get Ready To Buy Kindle Fire!

Do NOT Buy Kindle Fire Until You Know All Of This!

Buy Kindle FireThat’s right, you can’t buy Kindle Fire until you know one simple thing. What might that be you ask? Ok, I’ll tell you. If you want this latest edition in the long and prestigious Kindle line, or you even have a remote interest in the Kindle Fire, then heed this warning. Buy Kindle Fire NOW! And this is why. Amazon is a master at timing and creating publicity and the big party they just threw to let people in the media see the new Kindle proves my point. With so much publicity that is going to be surrounding the Kindle Fire and since we are closing in on the holiday shopping season, Amazon is making sure that the Kindle Fire is going to get it’s fair share of the color ereader and tablet market.

Click Here To Buy Kindle Fire!

Oh by the way, it was announced at the shindig that you can buy Kindle Fire now to be assured of getting one. The official release date was announced as November 15th. That is the day that preorders will start shipping.

Quiet frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Kindle Fire sell out long before Santa has to shimmy his butt down your chimney. Now you think I’m probably blowing smoke here telling you buy Kindle Fire now. I’m not and here is another reason why. Amazon has put the new Kindle Fire at such a ridiculous low price point for a color tablet, that many who have been sitting on the fence in regards to making a tablet & ereader  purchase, are now going to be hopping off that fence in droves. Mark my words on that one. Now throw in the fact that if you buy Kindle Fire, you will instantly have access to all the media, music and books at Amazon with just a swipe of your finger. Pretty slick move if you ask me and I think the public is going to eat it up. But again. Just my opinion.

Buy Kindle Fire Or Buy The One With The Fruity Logo? That is The Question

Buy Kindle FireThis question is going to be asked by many in the next 90 days and it’s quite valid. Should you buy Kindle Fire and be instantly hooked into Amazon and all the content that it offers, or do you spend another three hundred bucks and get what most think is the premier tablet in the marketplace?

Although many think the Kindle Fire is being marketed as a direct competitor to the ipad, Jeff Bezos was adamant in the fact that it’s not. He was emphatic that the Kindle Fire is a tablet with a whole different purpose in mind, and that is, entertainment. I don’t mean to be redundant, but the convenience of being tied into the massive storefronts at Amazon, is actually not such a bad idea. Customers want convenience. And if you buy Kindle Fire, you’ll get convenience in boatloads unlike any other tablet that currently competes in the marketplace.

Where I think the Kindle Fire will make the most inroads is in families that might already have a high end tablet and now you can get a pretty cool tablet for the kids and not worry about peanut butter and jelly fingerprints on your screen. Again, thats just me looking into my crystal ball. But with the enormous amounts of childrens books that will be at your fingertips when you buy Kindle Fire and once again, music and movies, this just seems to make a whole lot of sense.

What Do You Get When You Buy Kindle Fire?

Buy Kindle FireLook, I’m not going to get all techy on you and tell you stuff  that will just make your eyes glaze over, if you are a techno geek (and hey, nothing wrong with that) you can learn all about the tech specs by simply clicking here. In a nutshell, here is just some of the highlights that you do get when you buy Kindle Fire. First of all, the Kindle Fire is equipped with a 7 inch screen that uses a chemical process to make it 30 times stronger and more durable than standard plastic screens. What this means to you is that you put the Kindle Fire in your bag, purse, briefcase and not have to worry so much about all those pesky scratches. Or, as stated above, give it to one of your kids and not worry either! The resolution just so you know is a very nice 1024 x 600 pixel at 169 ppi and 16 million colors. Ooops! I said I wasn’t going to get all techy! Sorry.

Now let’s talk about apps if you happen to buy Kindle Fire. Hmm, lets see, since the Kindle Fire is an Android based tablet, I don’t really think you’ll have a whole lot of issues with apps. So if your an Angry Birds junky, the Kindle Fire has got you covered! Or you can just choose from the other 10,000 that you’ll instantly have access to.

Look, I’m not saying that the Kindle Fire is the end all be all in the tablet marketplace. But what I am saying is that now you may have a viable alternative to the higher priced tablets and color ereaders that now exist. And after all, having choices is a good thing! And having a tablet that is backed by the marketing giant Amazon should put your mind at ease because if you buy Kindle Fire, you have everything under one roof so to speak.

If you want to discover all the ins and outs about this new player in the tablet arena, the do yourself a favor. CLICK HERE and take some time to read all about the Kindle Fire and make the comparisons for yourself. But remember, right now the Kindle Fire is hot and it hasn’t even been released yet! So if you plan to buy Kindle Fire, I wouldn’t waste a whole lot of extra time.

There really aren’t many cons when it comes to this great ebook reader. Users who are very technically inclined may be disappointed that the operating system is limited to the Android OS 2.0. If this is an issue for you then you may want to consider another ereader or take a look at the Velocity Cruz eReader Android, (the Velocity Cruz Tablet) for more features. The battery life with the Cruz is average but not bad overall. If you’re disappointed in that then you can always buy an extra battery so you’re sure not to have any downtime.

This is one awesome ebook reader that has really taken the market by storm.  For the cheapest pricing on the Velocity Cruz eReader just click on the link above and you’ll be in business.

Find The Best HP TouchPad Price

You’ve probably landed here because you really want to know who has the best HP TouchPad price. First of all thank you for visiting. You’re about to find the HP TouchPad at a fab online price!

Probably the first thing we should do though is take a look at this hot new release (and yes, this baby right now is so hot you’ll get blisters on your fingers!) into the “tablet wars” that many of you have been waiting for since Hewlett Packard made the official announcement about the HP TouchPad way back in February of this year (2011). Now with all new releases, especially in such a vicious marketplace where HP has to compete with this device, oops, forgot to mention it’s going to be competing in 2 arenas as the Touchpad will also function as a color ereader, be aware that the HP TouchPad price will most likely be all over the board since the official release date July 1st was just a few short weeks ago. (Did I mention that this little tablet is HOT?!)

Why The HP TouchPad Price Is So Great

First let’s look at the basics when it comes to sorting out the best price on the HP TouchPad. When you go to purchase your new tablet, you’ll have 2 choices, one gives you 16GB of internal storage and your second choice is a TouchPad that gives you a whopping 32GB! Aside from that main difference, the features are identical. In fact, when you compare the HP TouchPad with the other major players who make tablets, it’s seems as if everyone likes the numbers 16 and 32! Funny how that works.

Now let’s look and see if the price of the HP TouchPad justifies the goodies that you receive when you take your new Touchpad tablet out of the box. The first thing you’ll notice is that the Touchpad has a bit of a concave shape so that holding it is a lot more comfortable. Especially over longer periods of time. Now for some hardware specs. The Hewlett Packard Touchpad comes with a 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon process and 1GB of internal RAM. You get a micro USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1.3 megapixel camera and the microphone is located near the power button. The operating system is the webOS 3.0 from Palm that wowed many way back when it was being used in initially in the early models of smartphones. And since we could spend days just talking about this way cool operating ststem, we’ll leave it at you’ll find it just a blast to use!

What You’re Going To Love About The HP TouchPad

Ok, so far so good. But you probably want to know is if the TouchPad gives you a tablet that not only feels good to hold, but is easy on the eyes, has apps that you love and makes you go “mmmmm” when you listen to it! Right? Kinda thought so. Let’s first start with the display. The TouchPad has a 9.7inch 1024 x 768 IPS viewing area that has the chops to go head to head with anybody. The IPS technology gives you outstanding brightness and impressive contrast in all sorts of lighting environments. This is incredibly helpful if you just want to relax a bit and use your HP TouchPad as a color ereader. It also gives you viewing angles that make it relatively easy to share your screen with a friend. But how does the TouchPad sound?

The HP TouchPad price also includes Hewlett Packards proprietary “Beats” hardware. All you need to know about this is that the sound the TouchPad produces will definitely make you go “mmmmmmm”. And you certainly won’t be subjected to listening to music that sounds as if its rattling around in an old soup can anymore! Give me an “Amen” just on that feature alone.

Finally, let’s see if this cool TouchPad gives you enough apps and software integrated into the tablet to keep you happy. In all honesty, the answer to that is both a yes and a no. If you like Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Gmail, Bing Maps, Epicurious, QuickOffice and a slick interface that you really will fall in love with then you’re good to go. The App Catalogue is above average but could be just a tad better. Will you find what you need? Absolutely! And let’s be realistic here, how many apps does one really ever use? Hmm?

In conclusion, the HP TouchPad Price is most certainly justified at this point and from all early indications from some of the monster online retailers, the HP TouchPad is being well received (this is a nice way of saying the HP Touch Pad is hotter than the Sahara at noontime!)

The Pandigital novel is about to change the way that you view the term “novel”. Everything about this amazing eReader says brilliant and you’re going to want to do nothing more than just curl up with a good book for hours on end. In fact, you’re going to be able to curl up with millions of good books once you see the memory access that will let you download your favorite books, magazines, and newspapers.

About the Pandigital Novel Black

The Pandigital Corporation was founded in 1998 in Dublin, California. They quickly became known as one of the leading producers of digital photo frames and you might already own a Pandigital digital photo frame novel black. It wasn’t long before they became cutting edge in the world of ebook readers and began producing their very own color ereader.

The Pandigital novel black has many features that are worth noting. This ereader comes with a 7″ LCD screen with pixels of 600 x 800. Not only can you read your favorite books but you can also surf the web and send emails thanks to its built in wi-fi feature.  This features lets you play music on your handheld ebook reader and watch videos too, all with its amazing color screen.  You’ll have free access to the millions of books that are available at Barnes & Noble.

Once you have your Pandigital in hand, you can greatly install its capabilities when you install the Android Operating System. When you hear people ask if you’ve hacked your black Pandigital novel, all that means is whether you’ve installed the Android system yet. Once you have your Android installed you can run this ereader similar to how the iPad is run.

Pandigital Novel Black Pro and Cons

One of the most beneficial things about the novel is the fact that it’s very inexpensive while giving you loads of features that other ereaders in this price range don’t have. It has very long battery life, it weighs about half of what the iPad weights, and the screen is very responsive. The black model of this ereader is said to have a more responsive touch screen than the white model.  It also comes with a stylus that the white version doesn’t have.

The feature that stands out the most with this product is its low price. I’m sure you’ve seen that there are many other tablets out there that cost three hundred dollars or more.  In fact, they can cost upwards to five hundred dollars without much effort. So when your pocketbook is light then the Pandigital is the way to go.  No, you’re not going to have an iPad but you can be sure to be happy with this cool buy.

On the downside, there are some reports that screen rotation on this tablet can be a little slow and that the audio could be a little stronger.  All in all, for the price of this ereader, it’s an awesome buy and if you click the link above you’ll find the best possible deals on the Pandigital Novel Black.

This tablet is remarkably well priced and is full of features for your viewing delight. This tablet can give every other tablet on the market a run for their money and it’s backed by a great support system that Velocity Micro prides themselves on.

Velocity Cruz Tablet Features

The Cruz Tablet Velocity Micro is will do just what its name implies.  It will let you cruz through your media with its 7 inch touch screen with 800 x 600 pixel resolution.  The screen is highly responsive, unlike some of the reviews from the Pandigital Novel Black that we looked at earlier, and it’s very simple to navigate.  The acceleration cruz tablet uses the Android OS, an easy-to-use system from the guys over at Google. The OS is designed for touch screens like the Cruz and it has an amazing interface.

What makes the Cruz’s ebook reader so very special is the Kindle app that comes with the tablet. The app includes well over 700,000 ebooks that you’ll be able to download anywhere and anytime through the wireless interface, and you’ll be viewing them all in color too. With 4GB of internal storage, you’ll have plenty of room for all of your down loads. Both the USB and SD card slots are expandable. And you’ll never need to travel with a DVD player or laptop ever again because the Cruz supports both MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats.

Velocity Cruz Tablet Models

The sales momentum for the Cruz tablet has been tremendous and no matter which tablet you choose, you really can’t go wrong. The Velocity Micro Cruz T101 comes in with an amazing 1 pound weight. This tablet may be light on weight but it sure isn’t light on power. It will fit in only one hand and will give you endless media and reading ability.  The Velocity Micro T103 is also very lightweight and comes with enough ports and jacks to keep you up to speed on every bit of media and reading apps that you could ever ask for.  It’s slim and stylish and you’ll be glad that you own it.

Tablet PC’s are perfect for those who don’t like the inconvenience of lugging a laptop with them when they travel. They’re great to carry around the house and can be operated anywhere. They’re also perfect for college students who spend a lot of time walking around campus from one class to another or who spend a lot of time in the library and need to immediate access to the web at any time.

There’s just one thing that I’d like to point out with these tablets. Please keep in mind that you’re not buying an iPad and you’re not going to get every feature with the Velocity that the iPad offers. Most of the negative reviews of these products relate them to the iPad. The Velocity is not meant to be exactly comparable to the Apple product so if you’re looking for a replicate of the iPad then this is not the tablet for you.  Otherwise, just click on the link above to get the best sales prices available on the Velocity Cruz Tablet.

Many people misunderstand the concept of an ereader, thinking that they work the same way that a computer does. The Cruz supports both MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats so you can watch color videos at the click of a button. Battery life for this unit is about 10 hours (which some users feel is a letdown) so be sure that you’ve got a good charge before turning on your favorite flick. This unit is powered by the very reputable Android OS, an easy-to-use and well known operating system.  This popular ereader comes with a 4GB SD card, a storage case, and has a built in dictionary, notepad, alarm clock, and games.

The color ereader is a very reputable device and is considered by many to be one of the best ereaders on the market.  Not only can you enjoy the convenience that comes with a portable ereader but you can enjoy a color read too.

About Color Ereaders

The very first color ebook to enter the market was the Flepia. The Flepia was released by Fujitsu in 2009 and was first introduced in Japan only. The Flepia is a very powerful device. It’s capable of displaying up to 260,000 colors, has an 8 inch display, and has 40 continuous hours of battery life. It also hit the market with a very high price tag.

The draw to the color ereader itself is the technology of the color e-ink. Color e ink is relatively new and is considered to be a first generation product meaning that it’s still in its beginning stages. In order to make ereaders have a color  display, a filter is placed over the original black and white display, turning images to color.

Now there is one drawback to the color e-ink technology. Although these color ebooks have a color display, the colors are slightly muted and they’re not quite as vibrant as what you would see in an LCD tablet. The plus to all of this is that a color ereader will oftentimes cost significantly less than an LCD tablet, so some slightly muted color tones may not make a difference to you.

The advantages to the color ereader is the ability to view your favorite magazines and newspapers in color no matter where you go. You’ll have the ease of a portable reader along with the color that you love in paper products. Or you can view yourfavorite blog in style. Childrens books are just as enjoyable on one of these devices as they are in person.

Color Ereaders – Buying Tips

The Asus color e-reader has been reputated to be one of the cheapest color readers available but probably the most popular is the Nook ereader by Barnes & Noble. Other popular brands include the Ematic color ebook, the IView 700EB, the Pandigital Novel, the Pandigital Android, the Velocity Cruz and the Skytex Primer. Now these are only a few of available options so be sure to review them all if you’re unsure of which brand to purchase. There are even rumors that a color Kindle will soon arrive.

When shopping for your color ereader, it’s a good idea to jot down features that are most important to your needs. Screen size can vary from model to model along with storage capacity. Having wifi features will be important if you’re looking to have the ability to download from any location. Some readers have media players and screen resolution may also vary. And colors may vary from black to white to even pink. Be sure to compare models and price points in order to make the best buying decision for your needs.

Finding the best ebook reader for yourself is an exciting adventure. By shopping here for a color ereaders you’re guaranteeing yourself the ability to get the cheapest pricing online!
